In our trip to Las Vegas we were getting together with good friends and celebrating. For this celebratory evening, we chose a Thai restaurant since both our families like thai cuisine.  Hence we dined in Lemongrass, the Thai restaurant located on the casino level of Aria Resort and Casino.

Gourdoughs- its  not just  donuts; these are much more than that, these are fancy, gourmet, delicious works of art in a donut form.

I was introduced to this place recently by my daughters Girl Scout troop leader who took us there after a field trip.  Going to Gourdough’s was a bonus field trip for a foodie like me. This donut place runs out of an Airstream trailer now parked in the shaded lot near 1st and Monroe.

Located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco along the Central Coast of California, San Luis Obispo (pronounced san lewis obispo, or “SLO” for short), is the geographic and figurative heart of California. Recently named the “Happiest Place in the USA” by National Geographic author Dan Buettner,  San Luis Obispo’s warm community and small-town charm also offers the world famous Thursday Evening Farmers Market.

 
In our visit to California, we had stops in many cities, sightseeing and visiting friends and relatives. In our LA stop we met friends in Orange County who took us to this Persian restaurant, Hatam, for dinner.

It’s like heaven, when you take a bite of the crispy and fluffy deep fried square piece of dough covered with abundance of   powdered sugar ;) This is the Beignet.  And this taste of heaven is only experienced at café du monde.

Las Vegas , the  entertainment capital of the world  is known for its  casinos, resorts, shopping and fine dining .   The city’s entertainment industry is mostly focused in the Las Vegas Strip and  Crystals at city center is  a new  addition to the strip adjacent to new casino and resorts  Aria and Vdara.
